Hey, this is Skylar, the program coordinator for AIDE and I just got back from an amazing trip to Costa Rica, accompanying one of our Spring Break volunteer groups. One word to describe the journey: enlightening! I visited as many of our volunteer placements and current participants as I could in ten days. I went to organic farms, orphanages, schools, hospitals, and aquariums. I even bottle-fed a baby porcupine at an animal sanctuary!
What I have taken back to AIDE is the inspiration from our Indiana University Alternative Spring Break volunteers. What a group of energetic, adventurous and selfless students, who were willing to give their time and energy to a community in need during their spring break!
